Cauliflower Crust Pizza dough

Cauliflower Crust Pizza is a new craze amongst those who are looking for Gluten-Free Pizza or following the Keto diet.

The recipe that is shared is a Super-healthy gluten-free cauliflower crust pizza which is so easy to make. And it is totally gluten-free so it is completely guilt-free as well when you decide to have pizzas ;) ..! I usually buy mine from Costco as I am the only one who eats them in my house but its recipe works wonder and has been tested by me :)

Tips for making cauliflower pizza crust
  1. Make sure to squeeze as much water out of the cauliflower after cooking as possible. That is the key factor in how well the cauliflower pizza crust turns out. So drain that moisture for the best crisp crust to get a dry crust you can pick up with your hands.
  1. If you are in a rush and would like to make it faster then buy store-bought grated cauliflower. You can buy fresh or frozen grated cauliflower to eliminate a step, but you’ll still need to cook the cauliflower and squeeze out the moisture. However, if it’s frozen, you won’t have to cook it because simply thawing it in the fridge will soften it.
  1. Limit the number of toppings you add. It’s fun to customize the cauliflower pizza crust, but be sure not to go over-board with the add-ins, especially the vegetables. That’s because they can release too much moisture, which we spent a lot of time removing.
  1. Flip the crust when it’s almost done cooking for extra crispy edges. You’ll need two spatulas and you’ll want to do this when the cauliflower pizza crust looks crispy and cooked. This is not necessary but will result in a more crisped crust.

Ingredients

FOR CRUST:

  • Cauliflower - 1 head cut into florets
  • Salt to taste
  • Garlic Powder - 2 teaspoon
  • Oregano - 2 teaspoon
  • Basil - 2 teaspoon
  • Cheese (shredded mozzarella cheese) - ½ cup
  • Egg - 2  or if you want to make it without eggs - substitute for almond flour (1/2 cup) and Flax seeds (3 tablespoons)
FOR TOPPING:
  • Pizza Sauce as needed
  • Onions
  • Bell peppers
  • Mozzarella Cheese or Cheddar or a mix of both as needed
  • Olives
  • Red Chilli Flakes (optional)
  • Oregano (optional)
  • Basil (optional)
Instructions/ Method
  1. Take cauliflower in a blender and pulse few times so it is coarsely processed.
  2. Take it in a microwave-safe bowl, cover, and microwave for 5 mins.
  3. Now remove and place over a paper towel-lined colander and press to extract as much liquid as possible.
  4. Now take the cauliflower in a bowl, add oregano, basil, salt, garlic powder, cheese, egg, and mix well.
  5. Spoon this in a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake it in a preheated oven for 25 to 30 mins.
  7. Remove and top with sauce, onions, capsicum, cheese, olives, chili flakes, oregano, and basil.
  8. Bake for further 10 mins.
  9. Remove and serve.

Notes:
If you are making it without eggs, ensure to use your hands if needed to make it stick together. You can add a tablespoon of water if needed but I don't add any extra liquid when I use my hands to mix the dough and so only use if needed.

To make it extra crispy, you can also add 2 tablespoons of rice flour or fine white corn flour

Please share some pics or feedback once you have tried it :)
