Khakhariya / Khakharia (Diwali famous Gujarati snack)

Khakariya is a very popular Diwali snack made especially for the festive time. It is a sweet snack and goes really well with other savoury Diwali snacks. My mother in law has a very unique way of making it with two different recipes and a must-try for those who love this snack.

Recipe 1:

Ingredients:

Maida flour - 1 cup
Wholewheat flour - 2 tablespoons
Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
Sesame seeds soaked overnight in warm water - 1/2 Tablespoon
Cardamon Powder - 1/4 teaspoon
***Powdered Sugar - 3 tablespoons
Whipping cream - 3 tablespoons + 3 1/2 tablespoons 

Note:
*** Do not use sugar if you use Sweetened Whipping cream. Watch the video for more information

Recipe 2:

Ingredients:

Maida flour - 1 cup
Wholewheat flour - 2 tablespoons
Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
Sesame seeds soaked overnight in warm water - 1/2 Tablespoon
Cardamon Powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Cane Sugar - 3 tablespoons
Ghee (melted) - 3  tablespoons\
